Tentative Itinerary

July 09 Friday Depart U.S.A. for Beijing
10 Saturday Arrive Beijing late evening, Transport to Yanshan Hotel or other
suitable hotel.
11 Sunday American participants tour to Great Wall, Sacred Way, Ming
Tombs by Tour Co. Coach. Evening free time. Tour co. to
arrange BLD.
12 Monday First Day of Workshop in Beijing. Meeting of participants in the
morning on Renmin University of China (RUC) Campus.
Workshop operation and objectives will be discussed.
Participants will make introductions and select working team
members. Break for lunch. After lunch all workshop members go
to Yuan Ming Yuan by subway to Photograph. Workshop
instructors will be available to assist the students in the field. In
evening all workshop members meet for dinner and discussion of
photographing at Yuan Ming Yuan. We will have a demonstration
of Panorama Virtual Reality (VR 360) photography. Tour co. to
arrange breakfast for American participants. Lunch to be
arranged by Workshop on Campus. Workshop to arrange dinner.
13 Tuesday In the morning all participants meet at the Yanshan hotel. Then
go to Palace museum by subway to photograph. Each team
will work together photographing at the Palace Museum
(Forbidden City). In the afternoon teams can select to go to
another location to photograph if they have finished making
photographs at the Palace Museum. All members meet in the
evening at the RUC Campus to discuss photographs taken that
day. Each team selects their own locations for photographing for
the next day. Tour co. to arrange breakfast for American
participants. Teams shall have lunch and dinner independently.
14 Wed. Each team meets at the Yanshan Hotel in the morning then goes
to their selected locations for photographing for the day. In the
evening the Workshop will host a reception for Beijing
photographers. Photographs will be displayed by projection.

shall have lunch and dinner independently.
15 Thursday In the morning all participants meet at the Yanshan hotel. All
participants go to 798 Art District and 3 shadows Gallery to
photograph and view photography and artwork. Workshop will
arrange transportation. Evening free. Tour co. to arrange
breakfast for American participants. Members have lunch and
dinner independently.
16 Friday Workshop meets in the morning at Yanshan Hotel. Teams select
locations to photograph. Evening free, suggested activity is to go
to the English corner. Tour co. to arrange Breakfast for American
participants.
17 Saturday Free day for shopping and editing photographs. All members
attend departure dinner. Dinner to be arranged by Workshop.
Tour co. to arrange Breakfast for American participants.
18 Sunday Depart Beijing for Suzhou in the morning. Hotel check in on
RUC Campus Hotel. Afternoon free. Dinner for all Workshop
participants. After dinner Workshop operation and objectives
will be discussed. Participants will make introductions and select
working team members. Tour co. to arrange breakfast for
American participants. Lunch to be arranged by Workshop for
American participants. Dinner to be arranged by Workshop for
all participants.
19 Monday First Day of Workshop in Suzhou. Meeting of participants in the
morning on RUC Suzhou Campus. Then all members go to Tiger
Hill. Break for lunch. Then to Suzhou Garden (tba). Workshop
instructors will be available to assist the students while
photographing during the day. All members meet for dinner.
After Dinner there will be discussion of the photographs made
during the day. Breakfast for Americans, lunch and dinner for all
participants to be arranged by Workshop.
20 Tuesday All members meet in the morning on RUC Campus, then go to
selected water town (Tongli?). The Workshop will arrange for
transportation. Workshop instructors will be available to assist
the students while photographing during the day. All members
meet for dinner. After dinner there will be discussion of the
photographs made during the day. Teams shall select locations to
photograph on the next day. Breakfast for Americans, lunch and
dinner for all participants to be arranged by the Workshop.
21 Wed. Workshop meets in the morning on RUC Campus, then each
team goes to selected locations to photograph. Breakfast for
Americans, to be arranged by the Workshop. Lunch and dinner to
be independently arranged for by each of the participants. Evening
free.
22 Thursday Workshop meets in the morning on RUC Campus. Teams shall
select locations to photograph on this day. Workshop meets in
evening after dinner to discuss the photographs taken
Wednesday and Thursday and a demonstration of VR 360
photography. Teams shall select locations to photograph on the
next day. Breakfast for Americans, to be arranged by the
workshop. Lunch and dinner to be independently arranged for by
each of the participants.
23 Friday Workshop meets in the morning on RUC Campus. Teams then
go to selected locations to photograph. Free evening. Breakfast
for Americans to be arranged by the Workshop. Lunch and
dinner to be independently arranged by each member.
24 Saturday Last day in Suzhou. Workshop meets in the morning on RUC
Campus. Teams shall select locations to photograph on this day.
Teams then go to selected locations to photograph. All members
meet for dinner. After dinner discussion of photographs taken in
Suzhou. Breakfast for Americans to be arranged by the
Workshop. Lunch to be independently arranged by each
member. Dinner for all participants to be arranged by the
Workshop.
25 Sunday Depart for Shanghai in the morning. Hotel check in. Afternoon
meeting of all participants to discuss Workshop operation and
objectives. Participants will make introductions and select
working team members. Free evening in Shanghai. It is
suggested that teams do night photography in the City. Tour co.
to arrange breakfast and lunch for American participants. Dinner
for all participants to be arranged independently by each
member.
26 Monday Workshop members meet in the morning. Then go to Expo by
public transportation. Each team photographs together at Expo and
returns to hotel in evening by public transportation. Tour co.
to arrange breakfast for American participants. Lunch and dinner
for all participants to be arranged independently by each member.
27 Tuesday Workshop members meet in the morning. Then go to Expo by
public transportation. Each team photographs together at Expo and
returns to hotel in evening by public transportation. Tour co.
to arrange breakfast for American participants. Lunch and dinner
for all participants to be arranged independently by each member.
28 Wed. Workshop members meet in the morning. Each team selects
location in City to photograph during the day. Workshop meets in
evening after dinner for discussion of photographs taken at Expo and
in City. There will be a VR 360 demonstration. Tour co. to arrange
breakfast for American participants. Lunch and dinner for all
participants to be arranged independently by each member.
29 Thursday Workshop members meet in the morning. Then go to Expo by
public transportation. Each team photographs together at Expo and
returns to hotel in evening by public transportation. Tour co.
to arrange breakfast for American participants. Lunch and dinner
for all participants to be arranged independently by each member.
30 Friday Free day in Shanghai. Departure dinner for all participants. Tour
co. to arrange breakfast for American participants. Lunch
for all participants to be arranged independently by each member.
Dinner for all participants to be arranged by Workshop.
31 Saturday Depart for U.S.A.
Notes:
1. Chinese students must pay for meals and admissions provided by the Workshop. Meals and admissions provided by the Workshop are included in the tour package for the American students. Chinese students must pay for their transportation between cities should they choose to attend more than one section of the workshop. Chinese students must pay costs for their living accommodations.
2. There are many places of historical significance that are excellent locations for photography that are not scheduled on the itinerary for a visit by the Workshop due to time restrictions. The Workshop participants will want to visit many of these sites. Such places may be the Summer Palace, Temple of Heaven, the Shanghai Museum and bridges of Suzhou. It is contemplated that these locations will be selected to visit on days reserved for independent team photography. Suggestions for independent team photography will be discussed during Workshop meetings. Certain evening programs are in the initial planning stages. These programs will be added to the itinerary if arrangements for the evening program can be completed.
3. Hotel and workshop meeting locations for Shanghai are to be determined.
4. Workshop Instructors will accompany teams during days of independent photography as availability allows.
5. Workshop participants may submit photographs to be used in Workshop Exhibition on the last day of each Workshop section.
6. The Workshop Curriculum while being intense is flexible so that it can be modified to take advantage of unforeseen opportunities. The itinerary is, therefore, subject to modification at any time.

December 26, 2007: Depart Los Angeles, California, USA for Beijing, China. For departure from other cities contact Amos Wu at CTS Int'l USA, Los Angeles branch (tel: 888-664-5678).
December 27, 2007: Arrive Beijing. Check into the hotel. Activities to be arranged according to time of arrival.
December 28, 2007:
Day 1 of Workshop (time of workshop session to be arranged).
I. Introduction
A. Faculty and Students meet.
1. Each participant introduces himself or herself.
II. Presentation by Faculty includes discussion of:
A. Purpose, Goals of Workshop.
1. To photograph Olympic preparations, facilities, other places and events of artistic, cultural and historical importance by cooperative teams of Chinese and USA Photographers.
2. The photographs are intended to be included in a book. The purpose of the book to serve as a portfolio piece for the participants. Printing, publication and distribution of the book is subject to obtaining sufficient funding from sponsors.
3. The book shall contain the participant’s photographs and commentary. Photographs and commentary to be included in the book shall be selected by the workshop faculty from those submitted by workshop participants.
III. Presentation of Portfolios
A. Participants present and discuss their portfolio.
B. Discussion of portfolio and what participant hopes to accomplish during workshop.
C. Faculty may suggest areas of concentration for participant during workshop.
IV. Lunch Break.
V. Participants select partners to work with.
VI. Discussion concerning locations to be photographed.
VII. Orientation and Tour of Renmin University Campus

December 29, 2007 and December 30, 2007:
Workshop visits Olympic sites for the day to photograph. Workshop critique of the days photographs in evening. Chinese photographers may join workshop in evening and speak to workshop participants.
December 31, 2007: Meals included: food included at New Years Eve party.
Each team of participants will independently go to locations of their choice to photograph during the day. The workshop shall sponsor a New Years Eve Party for the USA and Chinese participants and invited guests. The New Years Eve Party will be an unusual opportunity to meet local Beijing people from the university, media professionals and other interesting invited guests.
January 1, 2008: Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Workshop visits Palace Museum and Tiananmen Square during the day. Critique following dinner.
January 2, 2008:
Workshop visits Olympic sites to photograph. Critique in evening.
January 3, 2008:
Each team to photograph independently full day and evening.
January 4, 2008:
Workshop visits Olympic and other sites of interest during the day. Critique in evening.
January 5, 2008: Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Workshop visits the Summer Palace and Yuan Ming Yuan during the day. Free evening. Entertainment may be arranged.
January 6, 2008: Meals included: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.
Workshop visits Great Wall during the day. Evening entertainment after dinner will be Peking Opera.
January 7, 2008:
In the morning the Workshop will meet for discussion on selection of photographs and writing commentary for the book. Then the Workshop visits Sha Jia Hia area for tour of Hutong homes by rickshaw (Participants will travel to Hutong area individually with assistance of workshop faculty). Workshop participants are free to photograph the remainder of the day and evening in the Hutong area and enjoy the evening in the surrounding restaurant and bar street areas.
January 8, 2008:
Teams go shopping and photographing. Participants work independently selecting photographs to submit for publication and writing commentary.
January 9, 2008:
Participants submit photographs and commentary. Workshop meets to discuss submissions (time of meeting tba).
January 10, 2008:
Resubmission of photographs and commentary. Final critique (time of critique tba).
January 11, 2008:
Free day. Departure banquet in evening.
January 12, 2008:
Depart for USA.
Breakfast lunch and dinner are included as indicated by the itinerary. Meals not included in the tour package do not present a problem for the participants. Many good and inexpensive places to dine are available on campus and throughout the city of Beijing.
Workshop participants may make arrangements with the travel agency for departure from other USA cities or for extending their visit to China and to travel to other locations.
Due to changes of scheduling by the university or the tour company or unforeseen circumstances the itinerary may be changed without notice.
